Biography

Gabriela Coada is a Junior at Emory University studying Computer Science and Economics. She is currently an undergraduate researcher in the Economics Department, under the mentorship of Professor David Jacho-Chavez. Currently, she is working on a project with researchers at the Bank of Canada using the Bank’s proprietary yearly Bitcoin Omnibus Survey to investigate cryptocurrency ownership. Present weekly on research progress and findings to SURE mentor and project stakeholders. Some of her skills include pulling data using SQL, data processing with STATA and R, creating maps and other visualizations, and communicating findings to stakeholders.

  • Partnered with Bank of Canada research team to investigate and analyze impact of cryptocurrency ownership in Canada.
  • Utilized statistical language Stata (self-taught) to cleanse, process and facilitate analysis of >20,000 observation dataset.
  • Performed statistical regression analyses and prepared graphical presentation of results and findings.
  • Invited to speak at the “2023 4th Joint Annual Conference on Expectations” in Ottawa, Canada, and presented this project to over a hundred professors, researchers, and experts in economics.

  • Joined a startup fintech company to develop technology for independent software vendors (ISVs) to embed payments into their product.
  • Main responsibility at the beginning was creating forms for the Know-Your-Customer (KYC) component of the application. Created and designed a go-to-market product that was successfully utilized within one month.
  • Present weekly/monthly progress updates to dozens of clients and corporations, including executive management team and investors.
